Update: Hold on!! MnDOT Cancels Weekend Lane Closure Planned for Westbound I-694 in New Brighton Area

Update: MnDOT cancels this road construction closing that had been planned for this weekend: 
"The planned closure of westbound Interstate 694 between I-35W and Long Lake Road in Arden Hills and New Brighton Friday beginning Oct. 4, through Monday morning, Oct. 7, has been postponed due to inclement weather forecast throughout the weekend.

Weather permitting, the closure will be scheduled next weekend to finish concrete pavement repairs and seal the westbound I-694 bridge deck over I-35W."

Get ready for one more weekend of lane closures on westbound Interstate 694 in the Roseville/New Brighton area, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT). 

The westbound interstate will be reduced to a single lane of traffic beginning at 7 p.m. Friday (Oct. 4), and will then close to traffic at 10 p.m. Weather permitting, the roadway will reopen to traffic by 5 a.m. Monday (Oct. 7), MnDOT officials said in a news release.

While the interstate is closed, the ramps from northbound and southbound I-35W to westbound I-694 also will close, the agency said. 

"During the closures, motorists will be detoured on I-35W, west on Highway 10 and Highway 610 and south on Highway 252 to the westbound interstate."

Concrete pavement repair, drainage improvements and bridge deck replacement began in mid-June on I-694 between Highway 100 in Brooklyn Center and Interstate 35W in Arden Hills, MnDOT said. Work is expected to be completed by mid-November.
