$49 Southwest Airlines Flights Includes Minneapolis/St. Paul Deals

Southwest Airline's twice-a-year 72-hour sale offering round-trip fares below $100 continues through Thursday.

Southwest Airlines launched its twice-a-year travel deal, where flights can be picked up on the cheap — less than $100 for a round-trip on some of the Dallas-based airline’s shortest routes. The 72-hour sale offers primarily non-stop, one-way flights as low as $49, and the one-way prices increase to $79, $99 or $129 for longer flights.

There are some exclusions, of course. Fridays and Sundays, two of the biggest travel days of the week, are excluded, and certain dates around Labor Day and Thanksgiving are blocked out. There are also restrictions on Southwest’s Florida and Nevada flights.

Three Southwest flights from Minneapolis-Saint Paul International Airport start at $49 for a one-way fare, including ot Kansas City, Milwaukee and St. Louis. Flights to Atlanta and Baltimore/Washington start at $79.

Some of Southwest’s international routes are included in the sale, and can cost anywhere from $59 to $250 each way, and prices are good only on Tuesday and Wednesday flights. But if you’re looking for a domestic flight, you can travel on a budget from dozens of U.S. airports.

Travel must be booked for Aug. 22-Dec. 13. The sale ends Thursday, June 8, at 11:59 p.m., local time, in the city of the departing flight. Full details of the sale found here.
