Candlelight Vigils Planned In Minnesota To Protest Migrant Camps
Lights of Liberty will hold hundreds of vigils nationwide, including in the Twin Cities, to protest conditions in U.S. migrant camps.
ACROSS MINNESOTA — Lights for Liberty: A Vigil To End Human Concentration camps will hold candlelight vigils on Friday, July 12, in locations throughout the country. Several vigils are planned in Minnesota, according to the group’s website.
The goal of the vigils, according to the Lights for Liberty, is to protest the inhumane conditions of migrant camps along the U.S. southern border. Key events are planned in El Paso, Texas, Homestead, Fla., San Diego, Calif.; New York City; and Washington, D.C.
The vigil closest to the Twin Cities area will be held in Saint Paul at the Ramsey County Law Enforcement Center, 425 Grove St, from 8:30-9:30 p.m. Other vigils are planned in Albert Lea, Duluth, Red Wing, Rochester and more.
