Charges Announced In Shooting Death Of Toddler in Saint Paul

SAINT PAUL, MN—The 2-year-old boy shot and killed on December 23 has been identified as Jayse Damir Wilson, according to Saint Paul Police.

Saint Paul police launched their investigation Wednesday. At 1:12 p.m., a 911 caller reported that the boy only had "hurt his head."

St. Paul fire medics arrived at the third-floor apartment and found the child with a gunshot wound.
Medics treated the child, but he died in an ambulance parked outside of the apartment building about eight minutes after the 911 call was made.

The toddler's mother received a "frantic" phone call from Williams, according to Fox 9. He was babysitting her children at her apartment. During the call, he told the mother he left a gun in the bathroom and she needed to come home because the child "got to it" and shot himself.
