Falcon View Connections Academy Recognizes Saint Paul Student

Zion Hurt of Saint Paul, was recently named one of Falcon View Connections Academy’s (FVCA) Students of the Month in recognition of her achievements and leadership in the virtual classroom.

Zion, a third grader at the statewide online school was nominated by her teacher, Mr. Mindach, in recognition of her hard work and determination to succeed in the classroom. As a Student of the Month, Zion will be presented a certificate of achievement, recognized in the school’s monthly newsletter, and featured on the school’s social media platforms. Each month during the school year, FVCA will recognize students in grades K through 12.

“Our students of the month demonstrate leadership and an extraordinary commitment to learning while serving as strong role models for their peers,” said Anne Wasmund, Falcon View Connections Academy Principal. “The members of our faculty and staff are proud to give these virtual classroom leaders the recognition they each deserve.”

Zion came to the online school at the beginning of the second semester because her mother, De’Lisa, believed a different, more flexible learning environment would benefit her daughter. According to De’Lisa, Zion likes that she can work ahead which enables her to participate in many different activities in and outside of school.

“FVCA is an online school that provides flexibility and a really good curriculum,” De’Lisa said. “A school that allows students to be able to work ahead just to be able to participate in different activities such as sports, different meet ups and so much more.”
