Minnesota Beaver Mistakes Power Pole for Tree Trunk
The extremely cold weather apparently has one beaver in a small Minnesota town a little out of sorts.
If this week's extreme cold has you feeling a little kooky, just imagine what it's doing to the state's population of critters that spend all day and night outdoors. Apparently, the weather has at least one beaver in a small Minnesota town a little out of sorts.
This week, officials with Lake Country Power discovered that a beaver had chewed his way around a power pole in Boy Lake Township near Walker, Minnesota.
Thankfully, the beaver didn't chew all the way through, and the power pole remains standing. Officials still regret the beaver's unique taste in "tree trunk," however. Lake Country Power says the average cost to replace a single pole is $2,750.
