Peaking or Past Peak: A Fall Foliage Status for All of Minnesota's State Parks

If you're planning a fall foliage tour in one of Minnesota's state parks, use this list to plan out your trip.

Minnesota is a beautiful place to be when the fall colors start coming and the leaves begin to turn magnificent shades of red and yellow. But where is the best place to make a fall foliage tour this weekend?

Much of the northern part of the state is already past-peak, but there's still time to see leaves in their fullest autumn beauty in the state parks of central and southern Minnesota.

This year's season for fall foliage tours has lasted considerably longer in the state compared to years past. Just look at the maps below to see where leaves were at on the same date, Oct. 13, in 2015 and 2014 compared to this year:

There are still many state parks where the leaves are near or currently peaking, but there's also quite a few where the majority of leaves are past-peak, and those are the ones you'll want to skip.
