Snelling Ave. To See Restrictions For Soccer Stadium Construction
Expect lane closures while optic cable is installed for the new Allianz soccer stadium.

SAINT PAUL, MN — Installation of fiber optic cable for the new Allianz soccer stadium in Saint Paul will require three days of lane closures in both directions of Snelling Avenue between Inglehart Avenue and University Avenue, beginning Wednesday morning, Aug. 15.
During the cable installation, southbound Snelling Avenue will be restricted to two lanes from University Avenue to St. Anthony Avenue.
During the lane closure, motorists will still be able to turn right onto St. Anthony Avenue and westbound Interstate 94.

At the same time, northbound Snelling Avenue will be restricted to a single lane of traffic from Inglehart Avenue to just north of St. Anthony Avenue on Wednesday, Aug. 15. Northbound Snelling Avenue will then be two lanes in each direction from Thursday, Aug. 16 until Friday afternoon, Aug. 17.

The right turn lane from St. Anthony Avenue and westbound I-94 to northbound Snelling Avenue will remain open.
The sidewalk on the east side of Snelling Avenue along the northbound lanes will be closed near St. Anthony Avenue will be closed and bicycle/pedestrian traffic will be detoured onto the sidewalk on the west side of Snelling Avenue.
There will be no impact to traffic on the interstate during the work. Work will be completed by 3 p.m. Friday, Aug. 17, weather permitting.
