Stay Back, Stay Alive: 30 Snowplow Crashes this Winter
Last winter, there were 48 crashes in Minnesota involving snowplows. There have already been 30 crashes so far this winter.

"Stay back, stay alive." That's the message transportation officials want to impart on motorists encountering snowplows this winter.
Last winter, there were 48 crashes involving the public and Minnesota Department of Transportation plows. This year, there have already been over 30, according to MnDot officials.
Stay back at least five car lengths from plows, 10 if possible.

MnDOT snowplows can weigh more than 48,000 pounds, 15 times more than the average car. "When cars and plows collide, the plow always wins," MnDot said on Facebook.
Be aware of plow driver blind spots and stay out of them.
