Winter Weather Advisory Issued for Twin Cities

Total wet snow accumulations of two to four inches are expected with a possible glaze of ice. Plan on slippery road conditions.

The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for parts of central Minnesota that is now in effect until 6 a.m. Wednesday. Affected counties include Mille Lacs, Kanabec, Stearns, Benton, Sherburne, Isanti, Chisago, Kandiyohi, Meeker, Wright, Hennepin, Anoka, Ramsey, Washington, Mcleod, Sibley, Carver, Scott, and Dakota.

Expect a round of wintry mix or snow Tuesday morning followed by a break during the late morning and early afternoon. More precipitation, mainly snow, will develop late Tuesday afternoon and diminish around 6 a.m. Wednesday.

The heaviest snowfall rates will occur between 6 p.m. and midnight Tuesday.
