2 Found Dead In Shakopee Home During Welfare Check: Police

The 68-year-old man and 67-year-old woman suffered blunt-force trauma, police said.

Two people were found dead in a Shakopee home late Monday night, according to police, and a suspect hasn't been identified.

Shakopee Police conducted a welfare check around midnight at a residence in the 1100 block of Dakota Street, police said. A 68-year-old man and 67-year-old woman were found dead and had suffered blunt-force trauma, police said.

Officials believe the deaths were not random, and while a suspect has not been captured or identified, there is no threat to the general public.

The Bureau of Criminal Apprehension, the Scott County Sheriff’s Department, the Savage Police Department are all working the investigation, along with Shakopee police.

The Hennepin County Coroner’s Office will release the identities of the victims and their cause of death, police said.
