A Weekend of Events in Shakopee

From art to Halloween thrills, you won't have to travel far to find something to do this weekend in Shakopee.

Here are some highlights of Shakopee events for Oct. 6 and 7:

Scott County Art Crawl, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Oct. 6

The third annual art crawl includes over 30 stops throughout the county, including locations in Shakopee. The Savage Arts Council started the event to help local artists showcase and sell their work. For a list of locations, visit scottcountyartcrawl.org.

Shakopee Fire Department Open House, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m on Oct. 6

The open house is a family event with food, fire truck rides, and information about fire prevention.

Apple Fest at The Landing, on Oct. 6 and 7

Learn how pioneers used apples, play games, and enjoy some old fashioned apple recipes. Saturday hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday hours are 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. There is a cost for admission.

Book Signing at Cherry Berry, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Oct. 6

Anastacia Hawkins, a children’s author, will sign copies of her book, Larkspur.

ValleySCARE Oct. 5-7 at Valleyfair

This weekend attraction features Halloween Haunt on Oct. 5 and 6 and the non-scary Planet Spooky on Sunday, Oct. 7. Hours vary. Check the website for more details.
