Recycle Your Christmas Tree Through January 29 In City of Shakopee

Shakopee homeowners have two ways to dispose of Christmas trees:

Drop Off

The Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community’s Organics Recycling Facility (ORF) is accepting Christmas trees free of charge through Jan. 29

Christmas trees will be accepted from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. weekdays. The Organics Recycling Facility is closed Martin Luther King Jr. Day (Jan. 18). Trees must be free of all non-compostable decorations, tinsel, and flocking.

The Organics Recycling Facility is located at 1905 Canterbury Road in Shakopee. Please enter off Canterbury Road. For more information, visit www.smscorf.com.

Pick Up

Republic Services makes it easy to recycle your Christmas tree with curbside pickup through Jan. 29. The fee for collection is $5.40.

If you do not live in a homeowners association or live in an association that pays for tree removal (Brittany Village, Providence Point Condominiums, Providence Point Townhomes, Savanna Pointe or Weston Ponds), you can place your tree at the curb on your collection day. Trees must be free of decorations, including flocking and tinsel.

Residents who live in the following homeowners associations must call Republic's customer service at 952-941-5174 to schedule and prepay for Christmas tree removal:
