Three public hearings have been scheduled for the May 6 Planning Commission/Board of Adjustment and Appeals meeting. Hearings will be held to consider:

  • Preliminary plat of Windermere South Fifth Addition. D.R. Horton, Inc. - Minnesota plans to develop 101 single-family residential lots and an outlot for future residential construction on approximately 72.5 acres north of County Highway 78, west of Zumbro Avenue and east of County Highway 69/Old Brick Yard Road. The proposed lots would be accessible off Zumbro Avenue and County Highway 78.
  • Annexation and rezoning of property to Urban Residential (R-1B) Zone. Link Construction Inc. has requested annexation of 10.82 acres at 766 128th St. W., east of Marystown Road and north of County Highway 78, within Jackson Township. The hearing is anticipated to be continued to June 3.
  • Annexation and rezoning of property to Agricultural Preservation (AG) Zone. LaTour Farms, LP has requested annexation of 91.34 acres east of Highway 169, north of County Highway 78 and west of County Highway 69/Old Brick Yard Road, within in Jackson Township. The property is guided Mixed Employment Center, which is comparable to business park and light industry zoning. The property owner is proposing agricultural preservation zoning until development better defines the final plan.

It is anticipated that some or all of the members of the Planning Commission will participate in the May 6, 2021, meeting by video conference rather than by being personally present at the City Hall council chambers, 485 Gorman St., Shakopee.
