Shakopee Environmental Learning Center Grand Opening is Oct. 2
There will also be a public forum on clean energy, climate and health at Shakopee High School on the same day.

Shakopee Public Schools has a grand opening celebration and a clean energy forum coming up at the beginning of next month.
The district will celebrate the grand opening of the Shakopee Environmental Learning Center at Shakopee High School on Wednesday, Oct. 2 at 4 p.m. Cutting the ribbon will be Will Steger, who describes himself as an explorer, educator and environmentalist. Steger has led teams on polar expeditions for 45 years.
At 7 p.m. on the same day, Shakopee High School will host a public forum called "Clean Energy, Climate and Health." The forum will feature two speakers: Will Steger and J. Drake Hamilton, science policy director at Fresh Energy.Â
Shakopee High School is located at 100 17th Avenue West.Â
