Shakopee Officer Honored By State
Janna Grassel who was honored as the 2014 Crime Prevention Specialist of the Year.

Congratulations to the Police Department’s Crime Prevention Specialist Janna Grassel who was honored as the 2014 Crime Prevention Specialist of the Year by the Minnesota Crime Prevention Board today. Grassel is responsible for a variety of crime prevention programs through the Police Department, including Night to Unite, the Citizen Police Academy and Crime Free Multi-Housing. She also manages the Department’s social media accounts. “I can’t imagine anyone more deserving of this award than Janna,” said Shakopee Police Chief Jeff Tate. “She has taken our crime prevention efforts to new levels and exceeded expectations. We are very proud of the work she’s done here.”
