Skakopee City Council: Hearing on Delinquent Garbage Bills

The Shakopee City Council held an assessment hearing regarding delinquent bills to Dick's Sanitation.

Bruce Loney, director of Public Works, said the number of unpaid bills was 246. The cost of the unpaid bills combined with the administrative cost of dealing with the bills was about $55,000 Loney said.

The is the final year Dick’s Sanitation will handle the city’s garbage pickup. Last year the city chose to award its garbage contract to Allied Waste Services whose bid came in $400,000 less than Dick’s, Shakopee Valley News reported.
