Virtual Citizens Academy Returns In February In Shakopee

Back by popular demand, the Shakopee Police Department is offering residents a unique opportunity to go behind the scenes of police work through its virtual Citizens Academy.

The department will be offering a three-week academy on Facebook with live chats about a variety of police topics:
- Feb. 10: How to become a police officer
- Feb. 17: A look inside the medical bags
- Feb. 24: Search and arrest warrants

The virtual Citizens Academy was first offered in October 2020 to give residents a safe way to connect with the department and ask officers questions. The live videos will be available on Facebook to watch again after the event.
