Cottage Food Certification Available In Webinar In Wright County

University of Minnesota Extension is offering a cottage food producer safety training webinar that will be conducted On April 24.

In recent years, there has been a marked increase in the number of individuals who have joined the cottage food industry – selling homemade items like pickles, salsa, jam/jelly and confections.

However, selling homemade products to consumers is governed by cottage food laws that have requirements for vendors selling their products.

University of Minnesota Extension is offering a cottage food producer safety training webinar that will be conducted from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, April 24. The registration fee is $50 and those who complete the one-day course will meet the Tier 2 (revenue of $5,001 to $18,000) requirement from the Minnesota Department of Agriculture to register as a cottage food producer.
