Free Webinars To Be Trained As Weather Spotters Coming In April In Wright County

The National Weather Service has announced the dates for the 2021 virtual training sessions for those who want to be trained weather spotters in the Skywarn Spotter program. The sessions last approximately one hour and 15 minutes and will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 6, 1 p.m. Tuesday, April 13, 1 p.m. Tuesday, April 20, 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 21 and 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 28.

The courses are free and participants can sign up to be a part of any of the events. The webinar will include slides and videos on severe weather safety, storm structure and intensity, tornado development, wind storms and how to report severe weather. Content is appropriate for all ages.
