The connection between the Wright County License Center and the servers for the State of Minnesota have been down this morning, making it not possible to take photos needed for renewing driver’s licenses and upgrading to enhanced licenses or REAL ID. Staff has been turning away walk-ins because, while the system could return online at any time, there is no guarantee as to when it will come back and there is no estimated time being assigned by the state as to when the system will be available because, at the current time, the state is unsure of exactly what the problem is.

Other business transactions through the License Bureau (duplicate licenses, address changes to licenses that aren’t expiring, tabs, plates, title transfers, DNR licenses, etc.) are all available, but staff is urging those who plan to walk in this morning for a license renewals that requires a photo that the delay could be lengthy because of the unknowns.
