Minnesota Department Of Natural Resources Sponsoring Free 'Take A Kid Fishing Weekend'

Minnesota anglers age 16 and older can fish without having to obtain a fishing license over the three-day weekend.

The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources has announced that the annual Take a Kid Ice Fishing Weekend will be held over the coming three-day weekend Saturday, Jan.16 through Monday, Jan. 18.

Minnesota anglers age 16 and older can fish without having to obtain a fishing license over the three-day weekend. Throughout the year, those age 15 or under are not required to having fishing licenses, but those age 16 and older are required to. The objective is to get young people more involved in fishing in Minnesota. There are similar free fishing weekends held during the summer months.
