INFO: Nate and Camry Crist are thrilled to announce the installation of their new doppelgänger Little Free Library. The Grand Opening event will include family-friendly books and refreshments and crafts. Visitors are encouraged to bring a family-friendly book (or two!) to help stock the library, and a blank cloth or canvas bag to decorate with acrylic paint (paint and brushes will be provided) for future trips to libraries. Children’s books of all reading levels are welcome and encouraged.

The way it works is simple:

  • Nate and Camry will initially stock the LFL with a variety of quality books that will catch kids’ interest.
  • You stop by and take whatever strikes you, even if you don’t have a book to leave at the library.
  • You return to the library and bring books to contribute when you can. You don’t need to return the exact same book(s) you took (or any books at all). If you’d like to leave a donation larger than the library can accommodate at the time of drop-off, please place your donation in the breezeway (the main entry to the house by the two-car garage) of 5358 Darrow Ave NE.
  • LFL books are always a gift – never for sale!

Located on Darrow Ave. in the Eagle Ridge neighborhood, a doppelgänger to the log house behind it, the library will provide a friendly place for neighbors and passersby alike to pause and find a new book. Camry explains, “Little Free Libraries are an exciting vehicle for sharing free books, encouragement, and local resources with neighbors and visitors. This is the first LFL in our neighborhood.” In addition to free books, library visitors will find copies of two versions of a 50 Book Challenge (one of which was developed by the Little Free Library organization), kid-friendly bookmark crafts, and a guest book.

The Little Free Library nonprofit organization has received honors from the Library of Congress, the National Book Foundation and the American Library Association. To learn more, or to start your own library, visit www.LittleFreeLibrary.org.
