The Wright County Parks & Recreation will be hosting a Lantern Cross-County Ski event from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 23 at Robert Ney Memorial Park Reserve in Maple Lake Township. Almost 50 lanterns will be lit up on the pond loop trail for participants to enjoy a night of cross-country skiing. This is a free event for those who have their own equipment, but those looking to rent equipment will need to contact Parks & Rec to reserve skis, poles and boots. The cost for the rental is just $5 per person. There will not be snowshoe rentals available for the cross-county skiing events on the winter Parks & Recreation calendar.
