Same-Sex Weddings, Golf Tourney and School Open House

It will be a week of weddings, golf and school tours. Check out some of the events that are going on in St. Michael and the state this week, and read a warning about mosquitoes.

Golf Tournament

The I-94 West Chamber of Commerce's 21st Century Bank Annual Golf Tournament starts at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 30.

New Horizon Open House

New Horizon Academy in St. Michael will hold an open house starting at 4:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 1.

Same-Sex Marriages Legal in Minnesota

Courthouses statewide will be packed as Thursday, Aug. 1, becomes a day of history in Minnesota. 

Many will open at 12:01 a.m. for same-sex couples looking to "get hitched" under a new state law that recognizes their marriage for the first time, making Minnesota the 12th state in the United States to do so. 

Avoid Mosquito Bites

The first case of West Nile virus in Minnesota this year has been reported. Last year Dakota County had one case of the virus.
