Curbside Food Waste Pickup Coming To Washington County: Report

WASHINGTON COUNTY, MN— Residents of Washington and Ramsey counties will soon be able to recycle food scraps curbside, The Star Tribune reported.

Ramsey/Washington Recycling & Energy recently begun expansion on its Newport facility and is aiming to begin curbside pickup of food waste by 2022, the publication reported.

Residents will be able to put food waste into biodegradable bags and put them in their regular trash bins, and the new facility expansion will sift through the trash for the bags, the publication reported.
