East Metro Cub Foods, Rainbow Location Closing
Cub and Rainbow operate under Eden Prairie-based Supervalu​, which was purchased by United Natural Foods in July.

MAPLEWOOD, MN — There's only one Rainbow Foods locations that remains in Minnesota, and it's closing for good this weekend. The grocery chain's Maplewood store, which opened in the 1980s, will be shuttered Sunday.
The Cub Foods location in Saint Paul on Arcade Street will also close, but not until Sept. 26, the Star Tribune reported.
Both Cub and Rainbow operate under Eden Prairie-based Supervalu, which was purchased by United Natural Foods for $2.9 billion in July.

Cub Foods still plans to open a new store on Hiawatha Avenue in Minneapolis in 2019, according to the Pioneer Press.
