Here's How Many Washington County Residents Have Been Vaccinated

WASHINGTON COUNTY, MN— A total of 51,913 residents— or 20.3 percent of the county— have received at least their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, according to the latest numbers from the Minnesota Department of Health.

Of those, 28,741 residents — or 11.2 percent of the county — have received both doses.

In Minnesota overall, 1.1 million people have received at least one dose. About 642,701 people, or 11.4 percent of the state, have received both doses.

Overall, the state has been averaging giving about 37,037 shots per day on average, according to the Minnesota Department of Health.

In all, over 1.7 million vaccines have been shipped to Minnesota providers, and 415,370 vaccines have been shipped to long-term care facilities for the CDC long-term care vaccination program.

Governor Tim Walz recently expanded vaccine eligibility in Minnesota.

Those who are currently eligible to be vaccinated now include:

• Healthcare workers
• Those who work at or live in long-term care facilities
• People age 65 and older
• Educators, school staff, and childcare workers
• Those with certain underlying health conditions
• Certain essential workers
• People aged-50 and older in multigenerational housing
• Essential frontline workers

The Minnesota Vikings partnered with the state of Minnesota and hosted a mass vaccination event earlier this week with the new J&J vaccines for nearly 13,400 Minnesotans at their practice stadium.

Additionally, a fifth large-scale vaccination site opened in Minnesota at Roy Wilkins Auditorium.
