I-494/694 Ramp Closures Scheduled In Woodbury

WOODBURY, MN — Motorists in the Woodbury and Oakdale area will encounter ramp closures starting July 31, weather permitting. Beginning at 6 a.m. Friday, July 31, the following ramps will close through early September:

• Tamarack Road ramp to northbound I-494
• Northbound I-694 ramp to 10th Street

The ramp closures are needed to allow crews to complete construction. All closures are weather and project readiness dependent and may be rescheduled, according to a news release.

The Interstate 94/494/694 interchange and bridge reconstruction project is being done to provide a smoother, safer, long-lasting road with updated bridges and some mobility improvements, officials said.

Performing periodic pavement repairs at the appropriate times can greatly increase a road’s lifespan.

The project helps ensure MnDOT’s transportation system will continue to serve the state for many years, officials said. Construction is expected to be complete by fall 2020.
