Ride and Deliver: Volunteer Grocery Assistants
Volunteer opportunity for people to help deliver groceries to seniors
Volunteers are needed to assist our drivers in making deliveries into our senior client homes. Delivery Assistants ride with delivery staff, helping to unload groceries at each stop and accompanying delivery staff into the client’s home. Assistants provide an extra smiling face for clients while making deliveries more efficient. Assistants typically ride with the same drivers on the same routes each week, providing a unique opportunity for volunteers to get to know a wide variety of seniors.
Volunteers who can commit one day weekly, or every other week, are needed. Physical ability to regularly lift and carry totes of groceries (up to 50 lbs) and ability to assist even during inclement weather are required.
Delivery assistant shifts run from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. on weekdays.
