Shots Fired From Car Near Woodbury Village; No One Hurt

No one was injured, police said, but a Woodbury Village entrance sign was hit by gunfire.

WOODBURY, MN — Gun shots were fired from a car near the Woodbury Village shopping center in Woodbury Saturday afternoon, police in the Minneapolis-St. Paul suburb said.

Witnesses told police five shots came from either an Acura or BMW car just after 5 p.m., Woodbury Police Commander John Altman said in a news release. No one was injured, Altman said, but at least one of the shots appears to have hit a Woodbury Village entrance sign.

Police said witnesses told them the shots came from the back passenger side of the car, and aimed at another car in the area of Valley Creek Road and Valley Creek Plaza.

Part of Valley Creek Road just east of Interstate 494 was closed Saturday evening as police began an investigation, the Star-Tribune and others reported.
