Southbound I-694 Will Close In East Metro

OAKDALE, MN — Southbound Interstate 694 motorists may encounter delays this weekend during a project to resurface the interstate between Highway 36 and the I94/I-494/I-694 interchange in Oakdale.

The southbound interstate will close beginning at 7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 21. During the closure, motorists will follow a posted detour on Highway 36, I-35E and I-94.

Weather permitting, the road will reopen to traffic by 5 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 24, according to a news release.

Motorists are urged to plan ahead and allow more time to reach their destination. MnDOT also advises drivers to always be attentive, drive with caution, slow down in work zones and never enter a road blocked with barriers or cones.
