Washington County To Begin Hazardous Waste Collection Events
The first of the five events will occur April 17 in Hugo.
WASHINGTON COUNTY, MN— Washington County will begin its five satellite weekend household hazardous waste collections on April 17, the county said.
The satellite collections help make disposal of hazardous waste and electronics more convenient and practical for residents, the county said.
Shredding of confidential documents will also be available at these events, the county said.

The events will take place at:
- Hugo Public Works Garage, 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, April 17, 6900 137th St. N., Hugo;
- Wildwood Elementary School in Mahtomedi, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, May 1, 8698 75th St. N., Mahtomedi, enter at the middle school/high school driveway;
- Lily Lake Ice Arena in Stillwater 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, May 15, 1208 S. Greeley St. Stillwater;
- Forest Lake Transit Center, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays, June 5 and June 12, 19987 Fitzgerald Trail N., Forest Lake.
Paper shredding and electronics recycling will also be available on May 1 at the Cottage Grove Spring Cleanup Day, but hazardous waste will not be accepted at this event, the county said.

Five additional dates have been scheduled for paper shredding at the Washington County Environmental Center, the following Wednesdays from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.:
- April 21
- June 16
- Aug. 4
- Sept. 29
- Nov. 17.
In addition to the satellite events beginning in April, the Washington County Environmental Center is open year round to help residents dispose of hazardous waste, electronics, and other items, the county said.
The center is open 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., Thursday 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Friday 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and Saturday 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., the county said.
