Washington County Considers Raising Sales Tax

The increase would fund road and bridge projects.

WASHINGTON COUNTY, MN— Washington County officials are considering increasing sales taxes to fund road and bridge projects, Pioneer Press reported.

If approved, the proposal would raise sales taxes in the county 0.25 percent, coming to 0.5 percent total sales tax, the publication reported.

The county board will hold a public hearing regarding this June 1, and could vote as early as June 15, the publication reported.
