Woodbury Shooting Victim ID'ed As Maplewood Teen

The 14-year-old had been attending a graduation party in Woodbury.

WOODBURY, MN — The 14-year-old boy who was fatally shot at a graduation party Saturday has been identified as Demaris Ekdahl, of Maplewood, Woodbury Police Department said.

Ekdahl was shot around 10:46 p.m. Edgewood Avenue in Woodbury, police said. Witnesses said a white SUV was involved in the shooting before fleeing the area, and a black SUV or truck may have also been involved, police said.

Ekdahl died after being taken to Regions Hospital, police said. Nobody else was hurt in the shooting, police said.
