Gun That Killed Ex-NBA Player Lorenzen Wright Found, Cops Say

Wright's decomposing body was found on July 28, 2010, a week and a half after the 34-year-old was reported missing.

WALNUT, MS — For Memphis Grizzlies player Lorenzen Wright was shot to death and his body was found in 2010 in a swampy Tennessee field 75 miles east of Memphis. Now, police think they've recovered the weapon that fired the fatal shots in a lake across the border in Walnut, Mississippi, Memphis Police Department spokeswoman Karen Rudolph said Thursday.

Rudolph did not say how the gun was found or if it had undergone ballistics testing. No further details were immediately available.

Wright played for four other NBA teams as a forward and center over 13 seasons. He retired in 2009.
