Jackson Department Of Parks And Recreation Dedicates New Kingston Frazier Memorial Splash Pad

(JACKSON, MS) – Today, the City of Jackson Department of Parks and Recreation held a special dedication for the greatly anticipated Kingston Frazier Memorial Splash Pad in Presidential Hills Park II. The ribbon-cutting event brought together a host of community members along with several local dignitaries who offered prayers and remarks including, Mayor Chokwe Antar Lumumba, Councilwoman Angelique C. Lee, Elder Larry Williamson Sr., Faith Community Outreach Church, District 2 Supervisor David L. Archie, Presidential Hills Homeowners Association President Wade Brown, Jackson Parks & Recreation Director Ison Harris, Jr. and the parents of Kingston Frazier, Ebony Archie and William Frazier, Jr.

The new splash pad is named in memory of 6-year-old Kingston Frazier who was kidnapped and murdered in 2017. His memory and legacy will now live on through the joy and laughter of children playing for years to come. The park will also soon include a memorial plaque honoring the lives of other youth lost in the community.

The new Kingston Frazier Memorial Splash Pad is located in Presidential Hills Park II at 3971 N Flag Chapel Road, Jackson, MS 39213, and is set to open to the public Friday, April 16, 2021, weather permitting.
