Jackson School Calendar 2017-18: First Day Of School, Vacations, Conferences

The first day of school in Jackson is August 8. Feel free to mark it on your calendar as one of the most dreaded days of the year for students and teachers — and feel free not to feel guilty about marking it as one of your favorites. The Jackson Public School District has released its 2017-2018 calendar for public schools.

The calendar includes important dates such as winter and spring vacations, religious holidays, federal holidays, early dismissals and parent-teacher conferences.

Here is the full list of dates to know for this school year:

• 8/4: First Day for Teachers
• 8/8: First Day for Students

September

• 9/4: No School (Labor Day)

October

• 10/9: No School for Students (Parent-Teacher Conference Day)

November

• 11/20 - 11/24: No School (Thanksgiving Break)

December

• 12/21: 60% Day for Students, Winter Break Begins
• 12/22 - 1/4: No School (Winter Break)
• 1/5: Teachers and Staff Return
• 1/8: Students Return
• 1/15: No School (Martin Luther King Jr. Day)

February

• 2/19: No School for Students (Parent-Teacher Conference Day)

March

• 3/12 - 3/16: No School (Spring Break)
• 3/30: No School (Easter Break)

April

• 4/2: No School (Easter Break)

May

• 5/21 - 5/22: High School Graduations (School Days for All Students)
• 5/23: 60% Day for Students, Last Day for Students
• 5/25: Last Day for Teachers
