Mississippi Teens Accused Of Killing 6-Year-Old Kingston Frazier Denied Bond

Three teens are accused of the capital murder of the 6-year-old, who was in the back of his mother's car when it was stolen.

JACKSON, MS – Three teenagers accused in the brutal shooting death of Kingston Frazier, 6, were denied bond in Madison County Justice Court on Monday, according to the Clarion-Ledger. Nineteen-year-old Byron McBride, 17-year-old DeAllen Washington and Dwan Diondro Wakefield, also 17, are charged with capital murder in the slaying of the child, the newspaper said. They could all face the death penalty, according to the district attorney, even though they were not adults at the time of the shooting.

The hearing was held by closed-circuit video for security reasons, as the three have received death threats, police officials said. The preliminary hearing for the trio will be held June 26, and none of the three entered a plea on Monday. (For more news from Jackson or for breaking alerts, please subscribe here.)

The case aroused emotions in the area when an Amber Alert was broadcast for the young boy after he was last seen in the backseat of his mother’s car at the Kroger supermarket on I-55 early on May 18. The alert was canceled after sheriff’s deputies found the car abandoned in Gluckstadt, Mississippi, with Kingston in the backseat, shot multiple times, police said, according to CBS affiliate WJTV12.
