Chiefs' Roy Miller Waived After Arrest On Domestic Battery Charge
Miller allegedly roughed up his wife after a date at the Jacksonville Zoo on Friday night.

KANSAS CITY, MO — Roy Miller, a defensive tackle for the Kansas City Chiefs, was waived by the team on Monday following his arrest in Florida over the weekend on a domestic battery charge for allegedly roughing up his wife.
Miller and his wife, Nicole, went to the Jacksonville Zoo for a date Friday night and he left her there, police said. When they got home, an argument turned physical with the 6-foot-1, 300-pound lineman grabbing her by the hair and pushing her around. He also threw her phone in a toilet and tried to prevent her from calling police, a police report said.
Roy Miller was arrested early Saturday and had an initial court appearance the same day. He was freed on his own recognizance and is due back in court Nov. 28.

Miller is in his first season with the Kansas City Chiefs, who signed him to a one-year, $1.4 million contract to shore up their defensive line. He hasn't had much success though, playing just 13 snaps this year with two tackles and four assists, according to figures from NFL.com. The Chiefs gambled on him after he was released by the Jacksonville Jaguars in March. Miller was drafted by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2009.
"This morning we were informed about an incident involving one of our players, Roy Miller," the Chiefs said in a statement over the weekend. "We are still in the process of gathering details on the situation. We will have no further comment at this time."
