The winner from each region will go to South Williamsport, Pennsylvania, for the Little League World Series for ages 12-and-under.

WEBB CITY, MO —Missouri defeated Nebraska 9-5 on Friday due in large part to strong performances from Max Stovern and Walker Sweet, and will play against South Dakota Saturday in the Midwest Regional title game.

Webb City pitcher Stovern got the win Friday, striking out nine Nebraska-Kearney Little League batters over four and two-thirds innings Friday and allowing just three hits — including a home run — on 86 pitches. He allowed four runs — none of which were earned — and added a run and an RBI of his own

Sweet had two hits on the day, including an RBI triple in the top of the 2nd inning to break the 0-0 tie. He also scored in the top of the 4th inning.
