Affton Christian Church to Offer Free Thanksgiving Dinner
The church plans to serve more than 400 meals for those that can't afford to cook or don't want to eat alone.

AFFTON, MO — Affton Christian Church will provide a free Thanksgiving dinner from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Thursday, November 23. The Rev. David Woodard, lead minister of the church, said, “This is the 9th year we are offering this free meal to the community. We know there are a growing number of individuals and families who do not or cannot prepare a big meal on this day.”
Last year the church served more than 350 meals. This year the church is preparing to serve 400 meals to those in Affton and adjacent communities.
The outreach is designed to help those who are struggling financially, as well as those who find themselves alone on this holiday. “In addition to helping those who are hurting financially, we are finding more and more people who simply don’t want to be alone on Thanksgiving. Feeding the hungry and building community is part of our church’s mission,” Woodard said.
