Affton boys soccer coach John Peifer said he’d like to see the Cougars go to the Class 2 State Boys Soccer Championships one more time before he retires, according to the South County Times.
Affton has a 9-2 start to the season, and the South County Times says this could be the year.
The team “has won with a mixture of experience and talent, balanced scoring, a solid defense and goaltending. No wonder Peifer said he believes Affton will be the top seed in the Class 2 District 3 Tournament at Lutheran South next month and could reach the Final Four for the second time in school history. The team could go far despite potential roadblocks from perennial state contender St. Dominic Ladue and Priory.”
