Farm to School Day Brings Cows, Pigs, Goats to Rogers Middle

Rogers students scratched a pig and petted a lamb.

Rogers Middle School nurse Kathy Beezley is also the program advisor for Fuel up to Play 60. She said one of the plays for Fuel up to Play 60 is From Farm to School.

"I wanted the kids to understand how much work these farmers understand to bring them their food," she said. So she asked a Future Farmers of America group if they could bring some farm animals to the school.

On Monday a dairy cow, heffer, pigs, rabbits, chickens, sheep, goats and retrieving dogs came the grounds of Rogers. A different FFA student was at each station to tell the Rogers students all about them.
