I can't believe I'm seeing a major meth bust in my Patch backyard! Who am I, Skyler White?
Apparantly some fellows set up a lab for producing methamphetamines in the second floor of an office building at 9700 Mackenzie. These geniuses even had a canary-cat, a cat you only keep to tell you when to run from KILLER METH FUMES.
Now, I am not from Affton, but I know this stretch of road well, especially recently. The Affton Chamber of Commerce moved in .1 miles down the street (according to a hasty search on Google Maps.) That also puts it near the Affton White-Rogers Community Center, where I interviewed folks during the last presidential campaign and publicized their latest garage sale.
Anyway, I was just shocked to hear about the meth lab bust. I know I shouldn't be - I cover cases far worse further south, but the news still threw me for a loop.
