Almost 5,000 in Affton Area Without Power

Almost 5,000 people in the Affton and Shrewsbury area are without power Sunday night as the hot weather breaks into a thunderstorm. 

Ameren Missouri reports 2,845 households in the 63123 zip code, 810 households in the 63119 and 1,251 households in the 63128 area code are without power as of 10 p.m. That means a total of 4,906 households are currently without power.

Officials estimate power will be restored between 11 p.m. and 5 a.m.

Temperatures in Affton are around 73 degrees, and the National Weather Service has issued a flood advisory until 2:30 a.m.
