The previous owner of Shrewsbury Lanes, which sold privately before a scheduled auction on Aug. 12, said he only knows the first names of the new owners of the lanes.
Jim Bulinski was an owner of the lanes for decades, and was forced to sell recently. He was at the lanes on Tuesday waiting for the new owners to show up. He plans on continuing to work there, but said if the new owners don't show he'll have to take a new job that was offered.
He said he suspects the new owners are from St. Charles because he knows of a Catholic priest from there who was sent a text message about the sale. Bulinski said the priest has been a bowler since he was a young boy and is also a scratch golfer.
