Shrewsbury Police Bust Men on Watson on Drug Possession, Assault Charges

See what the Shrewsbury Police Department has investigated so far this month.

Sunday, Feb. 17

At 12:40 a.m., police arrested a man from South St. Louis County after a traffic stop in the 7400 block of Watson Road for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

About 20 minutes later and a block away in the 7300 block of Watson Road, police also arrested a man from South St. Louis City after a traffic stop who was wanted for questioning by a nearby police agency for three felonies: first-degree robbery, first-degree assault and armed criminal action.

Monday, Feb. 18

At 3 a.m., police responded to check on an abandoned automobile on the westbound Interstate 44 Exit ramp at Shrewsbury Avenue.  Police towed a 2013 Ford Festiva that sustained driver side front bumper damage and a damaged wheel.

Police checked the area, but could not locate the driver. The vehicle was towed and police eventually located a Shrewsbury man at about 2 p.m. who abandoned the vehicle. The driver of the vehicle was issued citations for leaving the scene of an accident, no proof of insurance and abandoning a vehicle on the roadway.

Tuesday, Feb. 19

At about at 2 a.m., police noticed the rear license plate of a 1998 Honda Civic was not lit and conducted a traffic stop in the 7200 block of Watson Road. Police detected the odor of marijuana from inside the vehicle and issued citations to a man from South St. Louis County and a man from South St. Louis City for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
