South County Men Charged With Trafficking in Meth

A trespassing call turned into drug charges against two men in Concord.

A homeowner told that Zachary N. Chatfield’s friends would not leave her home in the 10900 block of Coral Ridge Drive.

When police entered the homeowner’s basement on Nov. 25, they found 160 grams of methamphetamine and meth production ingredients and items, according to court documents.

Chatfield, 22, who lives in the home, was charged Thursday with first-degree trafficking in drugs, possession of chemicals with intent to make meth and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child.

Michael Moffitt, of the 11000 block of Torigney Drive in the Concord area, also was charged with first-degree trafficking in drugs, possession of chemicals with intent to make meth and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child.

Two children under the age of 17 were in the home at the time, police said.

Chatfield’s bond was set at $20,000. Moffitt’s bond was set at $25,000.
