Arnold Asks Residents to Complete Aging & Disabilities Survey

You pull into the parking lot of your Arnold favorite store, and it's packed. So you park what seems like a mile away and walk. No big deal, right? Well, for those who have a tough time walking unassisted or must use a wheelchair to get around, it is detrimental.

Do Arnold businesses have enough handicapped parking? Do some of our smaller businesses provide adequate access into their shops? What can we do to make life easier for our aging and disabled population?

That's what the city's Aging and Disabilities Commission wants to know in its latest Aging & Disabilities Survey. The goal of the commission is to promote full participation of senior residents and residents with disabilities in the community and in the home — without barriers. 

The survey will help the commission determine the most immediate concerns of the aging and disabled in Arnold and for those who care for them. You have until the end of the month to complete the survey.

Once the results are in, the commission will make recommendations to the mayor and city council concerning programs and benefits for the senior and disabled residents.
